Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist film in the science-fiction genre directed by Fritz Lang. In the year 2026, when the populace is divided between workers who must live underground and the wealthy, who enjoy a futuristic city of splendor, a man from the upper class abandons his privileged life to join oppressed workers in a revolt. Perhaps the most famous and influential of all silent films.
This was one of the world's most expensive silent film at the time of its release.I'm not such a fan of silent films but this beat Meany modern scfi films sound tody.4 Stars
